Field Service Manager

Summary: The Field Service Manager will work collaboratively within the Service, Repair, and Quality Control business to ensure that all customer and business needs are met with the goal of growth and development of the business. The Field Service Center Manager will report to and work closely with the General Manager of Service to uphold and manage all aspects of the Service Center field operations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead and assist in development of the Service Center business
- Supervise, manage and responsible for coaching and training of service technicians
- Supervises Technicians in accordance with the organizations policies
- Provides leadership through training, coaching, and feedback to improve performance and meet objectives of all assigned areas to ensure optimal performance
- Works directly with Service Team, Service Center, and Store field personnel to support and develop the Service Center business.
- Participates in program planning, special projects, trainings, and other assignments with other team members, retail stores, vendors, service providers, and other internal or external resources as needed, participating in meetings, and following through to complete specific tasks and activities
- Prepares presentations, memos, e-mails, reports, spreadsheets, and other documents for internal and external distribution by drafting, proofreading and spell-checking documents
- Reviews jobs invoices/paperwork submitted by field Repair Technicians to ensure all necessary information is recorded neatly and accurately
- Oversees paperwork, administration, and reports related to Service Center business
- Reviews and/or assists in preparing administrative documents by analyzing and evaluating information, audits, reconciling statements and documents, and coordinating with other departments to discuss resource needs, issues, and questions. Completes various financial, administrative, and other reports and analysis including cost as well as revenue/margin where applicable
- Assists Store, Service, Customer Service, Technicians, and others with questions as needed
- Continually searches for ways to improve results and effectiveness
- Responsible for recommending process/operational improvement
- Ensures that work performed meets the highest quality standards
- Manage sensitive matters with a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Represents BrandsMart USA Service Center in a positive light through great follow-through and sound judgement
- Location is in Fort Lauderdale BrandsMart USA Corporate Service Center, with occasional travel to Customer locations during Technician field ride-alongs in local South Florida Market.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint - Familiarity with creating reports and documentation - Organize and prioritize calls and emails- Respond to incoming emails - take messages or field/answer questions
- Flexible hours may be required depending on projects and meetings, but most common week is Full Time; 8-9 hours, Monday-Friday, Saturday 2 times a month
- Other duties as assigned
Education and Experience:
- 3 year experience in Appliance or Electronics Service Repair, Service Center Administration, Installation or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
- 2 years in Supervisory, Lead, Management or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
- High school diploma or equivalent, college degree a plus but not required
- Refrigeration, EPA, or HVAC Certification or Appliance Repair Certification
- Demonstrated ability to learn industry, company, product or technical knowledge and effectively convey that knowledge to others
- Advanced proficiency in Office Suite, specifically Excel, Word, Publisher, and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge or trainable in service center and retail computer systems
- Ability to build positive relationships with customers, both internal and external
- Strong organizational skill, attention to detail and ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to exercise good judgement in various situations, strong written and verbal communication, excellent administrative and organizational skills, and able to balance multiple priority projects
- Willing and able to learn and master new skills as the job progresses
- Enjoys organizing, analysis, and tracking data
- Coachable and not afraid to put in the hard work to grow professionally
- Must be able to communicate in English effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license and transportation for field visits
