Senior Accountant
Summary:
Provides accurate, timely and relevant financial information to internal and external clients and customers in order to achieve the functional area’s objectives. Responsibilities include: general accounting, inter/intra company activity, account reconciliation, close and month-end processing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, reporting and variance analysis. Requires familiarity of commonly used accounting concepts, practices, policies and procedures such as GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley. Typically reports to a Senior Accountant or Accounting Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Review and analyze all supporting schedules and general ledger accounts for interims, monthly and year-end closing.
Reconcile Balance sheet accounts and make appropriate journal entries.
Reconcile bank statements.
Work effectively alongside external auditors.
Ensure all processing and reporting deadlines are consistently achieved.
Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary.
Required Education, Experience, and Certifications:
Minimum of 3-5 years general accounting experience with 2-3 years of general ledger exposure
Knowledge of GAAP, month end close process, and balance sheet reconciliation procedures
Advanced MS Office skills (Excel – proficient in use of vLookup, Pivot Tables and manipulation of large datasets
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
Working toward CPA, desirable

Solid Microsoft Excel and Access skills
